Kelly Tarltons is a beautiful and educational experience for the whole family, established in 1985 by New Zealand marine archaeologist and diver Kelly Tarlton, the sea life aquarium was built in disused sewage storage tanks, and using acrylic shaping the aquarium offers a unique aquarium viewing experience. Kelly Tarltons offers a range of experiences beyond delving into the under-water world including the Shark Cage where you can get up close and personal with some of the oceans most deadly predators, or if you aren’t into the thrill seeking there is the Penguin Passport which allows you to visit and interact with King and Gentoo Penguins, finally a behind the scenes tour is an excellent way to learn about how the aquarium works, and the teams efforts in preserving our under-water wildlife!
